SPRING FORWARD In FAITH Last Sunday, 2:00 a. m. - TopicsExpress

SPRING FORWARD In FAITH Last Sunday, 2:00 a. m. officially marked an end and a beginning. In a matter of seconds we sprung forward from winter to spring, at least according to the calendar. So, I must ask the question, did you enjoy loosing that hour of sleep in a matter of seconds? My guess would be, probably not. I told my wife, time flies by fast when youre having fun! I was very encouraged to see people arriving for Sunday morning services on time...yes, the new time. You just never know how people will respond to time changes or new seasons. Im sure we are ALL looking forward to warmer temperatures, flowers blooming, spring cleaning and saying bye, bye to the winter blues. It is so true that time does affect our lives. Physically speaking, it affects us on many levels, from the way we eat, sleep, and breath to the way we work and behave. It also affects our spiritual lives, whether it be our prayer time, devotion time, meditation or weekly worship. Spending time with God will affect how we deal with and respond to life. David writes these words in Psalm 31:14-15a, But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, You are my God. My times are in your hands. Then he concludes the chapter with these words of encouragement, in vs. 24 he writes, Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. Maybe its time for us to change seasons in our spiritual lives? How about you; are you ready to get rid of the winter blues and spring into a season of growing in the Lord? Enjoy your time with God this week. It will be time well spent. --Pastor Alan Black
