SSM Health is pleased to announce that John Sigsbury has been named president of Saint Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Saint Mary’s Hospital is a member of Saint Mary’s Good Samaritan, Incorporated, a regional health system co-sponsored by SSM Health and Felician Services, Incorporated. Sigsbury will be responsible for ensuring quality health care services and the continued strength of the mission of Saint Mary’s Hospital. Sigsbury has significant health care leadership experience. He last served as president and chief executive officer of Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California, where he oversaw a 408-bed medical center with acute, skilled-nursing and assisted-living care. During his time at Emanuel, he implemented a medical staff development plan which led to the recruitment of more than 60 physicians. He oversaw significant growth, including construction of a critical care tower and Emanuel Cancer Center. He also developed a cardiovascular services division and recruited an experienced cardiovascular team. Prior to that, Sigsbury served in various leadership roles at various hospitals, including Saint Anthony’s Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri. He replaces Bruce Merrell, who retired in October. His first day with Saint Mary’s Hospital is January 26, 2015.
