STEM Education opportunity! I have some VERY exciting news on the robotics front. . . the FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) non-profit organization who conducts the Jr. FLL, FLL, FTC, and FRC robotics competitions is sponsoring a 1-year Americorps VISTA position at Fairmont State University/NASA IV&V in Fairmont! This full-time job will be focused on increasing the participation in all FIRST robotics competitions and to support teams and tournaments in underserved communities within WV. PLEASE help me identify candidates with an undergraduate degree in K-12 Education or a STEM field who are willing to give back to their community for a year while deferring their loans and earning a tuition stipend. We prefer candidates who have knowledge and/or experience with FLL, FTC and/or FRC as a student, mentor or coach. The VISTA will be required to attend an all-expenses paid training in Manchester, NH (FIRST HQ) Sept. 9-13 and will formally begin their year on Sept. 14.
