STUDY IN JOHOR Graduate with a World-Class University of London Degree “It’s difficult, but not impossible,” words that Ranjit, Crescendos Marketing Manager, told Terry Tan in 2011 about getting a 1st Class Honours Degree in the UOL International Programme. Today, Terry has proved how possible it is for someone, coming a Chinese medium school, to master the English language and eventually went on to achieve 1st Class Honours in UOLs Accounting & Finance Degree conducted at Crescendo International College. According to Mr K.H. Fang, Crescendos Chief Executive, Terry has set a fine example of a student who took the extra effort to improve his English by joining the Toastmaster’s Club at the college, where a group of CIMA Accountants hold public speaking training twice a month. Through the club, he went for a competition and even gave a talk at the colleges JCI Entrepreneur Metropolitant event. Chung Jia Sin is another exemplary 1st-Class Honours holder for the UOL s Accounting and Finance Degree acknowledged by the college for her hard work and perseverance in attaining the outstanding result. Founded in 1836, the University of London (UOL) consists of 19 world-class institutions such as London School of Economics (LSE), King’s College, University College London, etc. It has also produced many Nobel Prize winners among its graduates. The Accounting and Finance degree is designed by LSE. LSE’s Accounting and Finance was ranked as No. 2 by QS World University Ranking in 2013. Harvard University was No. 1. Soon to join the UOLs International Programmes are 3 Crescendo’s A Level students – Lau Sai Loong for Business & Management, and Hng Chew Wei & Michelle Lim for Accounting & Finance. Juggling between work and study, Lau won the Top in the World award for AS Level Law (Nov 2013 Exam). He subsequently obtained A*A*A in his A Level (May 2014). Hng, from Segamat, obtained A*A*A*. Crescendo has a hostel for outstation students such as her. In addition, the college also gave a discount of 50% on tuition fees for all outstation students who study Cambridge A Level. Upon knowing that Michelle has financial problem, the college provided scholarship for her A Level programme. The scholarship was not wasted as she managed to become one of Crescendo students who obtained AAB result. With another Crescendo scholarship plus the government’s PTPTN loan, Michelle will have no financial worries for her University of London studies. Crescendo International College hopes more people will know that world-class degree programmes from the prestigious University of London are available in Johor. Currently, Crescendo has 300 students studying in 3 different programmes: (1) Accounting & Finance, (2) Law and (3)Business & Management.
