SUMMARY OF SUNDAY SERMON OF 11TH AUGUST 2013 TITLE: Be Not Deceived. Galatians 6: 3-8, Romans 8:5-14. God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God , but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. Romans 1: 18-22. God is God and will remain God. Jesus said, ‘I tell you that , if men should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out’. Luke 19:40. Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are His delight. Proverbs 12:22. Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. Proverbs 10:9. . There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh. But they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:8. It will be very sad for anyone to hear God say go away I don’t know you. There is a fixed appointment we all have with the Lord. That appointment cannot and will never be cancelled. The set time no one knows. The Lord has said and still saying, do not be deceived by things of the world. False doctrines, people trying to take you away from the Lord, the desire of the flesh are some of the many ways you can be deceived. Mind what you do and say. The Bible has made it clear to us that whatever we sow , we shall reap. The letter T is just too central to all we do in life. It talks about Trials, Test, tragedy, tribulation and triumphs. Do not allow your yesterday take too much of today. Don’t allow worry to distract you. Worry will only give you something to do but won’t get you anywhere. Spend time with the word of the Lord and not things of this world. Be a brand. Let God know you are for Him. Work on your destination. Your take off may have been bad, but let your landing be with the Lord in heaven. Allow the Spirit of the Lord take total control of you, in every way of your life. We have been commanded by the Lord to love. It is not a choice. You must love. Romans 12:2 ‘And be not conformed to this world. But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable , and perfect, will of God’. Love your neighbours as yourself so say the Lord. Let your love show by action. Worship and praise the Lord. Praises breaks chains of bondage and tells the Devil that your mind is made up for the Lord. You will defeat pain, poverty, stress and frustration by praising the Lord. Don’t wait for anyone to push you. Push yourself.
