SUNNY SIDE UP Buenos dias! I am the new‘bee’ in the Brand Bee hive, bringing you the fresh buzz from the hive and the things that make the Brand Bee extraordinary. There are two types of people in this world. One: Those who believe in squeezing the worth out of every moment of their weekends. Two: The lazy procrastinators who spend half-the-weekend lolling around in the bed and the remaining eating or shopping or both. Not surprisingly, I belong to the latter category (The first category people - Guys, you don’t know what you are missing!). So, when I realized that we are supposed to drag our feet to the office even on Saturdays, I couldn’t help but give a disgruntled groan in my head. Even more annoying was the rest of the world (precisely speaking, my friends) coming to gloat as it is having its relaxing Saturday off. So, my first week at the hive kicks-off with a party (No, it wasn’t a welcome party but, Saptarishi’s silver jubilee birthday celebration. But, wouldn’t a party in my honor be so cool?). Anyways, I realized early on that working at Brand Bee would be a novel experience. The office pulses with an intangible energy and you are pretty much swept along the tide. You feel the ideas flowing around the workspace as concepts are bounced from one head to another. Apparently, every Saturday in the Brand Bee office is celebrated as YELLOW DAY. The Brand Bee celebrates its brand color, yellow in a unique way. All employees are supposed to sport visible yellow merchandise on Saturdays to make everyone feel a part of the company and create some excitement. Moreover, we can go as casual as possible with our attire. Okay, I was intrigued… maybe my Saturdays could still be saved. I didn’t possess anything yellow (great excuse for some shopping, Yay!). The defaulters are obliged to treat everyone to a lavish lunch. Otherwise, the lunch is sponsored by the Brand Bee itself (Are you kidding me!). So, the office is more radiant and positive energy is flowing in waves with everyone decked in the colour of joy. I thought it couldn’t get better…. but it did. Once a month, the Brand Bee employs are entitled to a group outing to build team spirit and well… to have fun… on a SATURDAY! So, the impossible has happened. Working Saturdays are fun!
