SURGERY...again... Ive received many calls, letters and messages in the last couple of weeks, in regards to my health. I have an admission to make. Im not great at sharing bad news. When things are going poorly for me I tend to get quiet. Thus, my quietness about my previous surgery. The last several weeks have been filled with tests. As many of you know, Im recooperating from my last throat surgery. Important nerves near the vocal cords had to be cut in order to remove two large tumors. Unfortunately, it appears that I have permanent voice loss. This has meant a total change in my life. A very difficult change. There are hopes that perhaps a corrective surgery can be performed in the future. During that last surgery a tumor was found under the collar bone, near the carotid artery. I recently have been feeling much worse, and tests have revealed a second tumor near the same place. The tumors are located between the carotid artery and main artery. The risk is extremely high. After doing poorly on my last tests, Doctors have decided on a stat surgery to be performed this coming Friday, the 21st, at 11:00 am. Best wishes and love to all, AL
