SWC v WYVERN 16th march Line up 3-5-2 1.S.HILL GK 2.A.GLAVES RB 3.J.HILL LB Skipper 4.J.BARNES CM 5.R.SMITH CB 6.L.FRETWELL CM 7.M.HAGUE RW 8.M.HEALD CM 9.L.PIGOTT ST 10.A.YULE ST 11.A.RYCROFT LW SUBS N.GRATTON M.JEPSON J.SULLIVAN Due to me coming out of retirement this report comes from jam and t-Rex cheers lads... After weeks of not playing, understandably we started rusty. Due to the league position and us been robbed by the league of 6 points this was a must not lose game. We tried to get into it Dick fingers commanding well in CM, and we constantly got the ball in dangerous wide areas but failed with any sort of end product. We were up against it early when influential winger Hague got a bang to the knee turns out this injury may rule him out for the season.. So Gaffer on after his recent dazzling displays in training 😂😂.. Frets looked lively and the 3 man defence looked solid. Barnes continued to battle breaking up a counter before playing a neat 1-2 wi gaffer and breaking himself and winning a free kick.. It was SWC who took the lead though there man intercepting a sloppy pass with the use of his hand was allowed to carry on and smashed home a cracking long range finish.. (Jams words cheating cunt handball but a good finish from da cunt)... Smith particularly solid in air and SWC also struggling to make clear chances... HT 1-0 We knew we needed to improve and get something out of the game, and the equaliser came soon after HT. Glaves with a long ball over top to Yule who brought it down and executed a lovely lob over keepers head 1-1. We continued to press Heald finding Pigott and a neat back heel for Yule who couldnt carve out a finish. Gaffer was winning headers in CM and Rycroft was trying to stamp his mark on the game but things just werent ticking.. Leading talisman Jepson came on for Pigott but it has to be said Pigotts movement was good and the lad run his bolloxs of he needs a game or 2 under his belt for his touch and he will be lethal... (T-Rexs words, which I agree) JB continued to find the energy many off us were lacking an Smith remained solid which soon cost him.. As always fully commited to a crunching 50-50 resulted in a nasty injury with him breaking his leg, massive loss for the green army along with Hague both players will be missed and were wishing them a speedy recovery.. So Gratton came on and we switched to4-4-2 with gaffer goin cb with skipper Hill.. Within seconds t-Rex was on his final warning before entering the book.. Barnes was still working hard and Yule was getting more into the game and the 4 man defence looked strong, but there was still very few chances for both teams.. The best fell to gaffer a Fretwell free kick fine delivery, found the head of gaffer who glanced it inches wide.. There was enough time for keeper Hill to get up to his usual tricks and throw it to them for a chance which he saved!!!! Lol FT 1-1 Goals: Yule Refs mom: Fretwell Managers mention: for me Barnes was a real engine today as always but no real stand out performers we were all rusty and will improve.. Smith / Hague are major losses Smith was another playing very well till injury struck.. Healds boots deserve a mention in themselves lol il get a photo on next week!!! But we didnt lose boys and were far from our best this league is here for the taking lets get stuck in as a unit win the title and see what the future brings!! UTW
