Sacrifice for Sin Although the Heavenly Father does not hold a casual attitude toward sin, He is not shocked by it either. He has made provision for it, not as an invitation to sin, but to receive His freedom from its tragic consequences. We make a serious mistake if we think God’s mercy is the result of some “smile-and-forget-it” bend in His nature. God’s forgiveness is available and adequate because it cost an inestimable price: the blood of His Son. Prayer Is Invading the Impossible My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (I John 2:1, 2 NKJV)
