Sacrifice for Sin Although the Heavenly Father does not hold a casual attitude toward sin, He is not shocked by it either. He has made provision for it, not as an invitation to sin, but to receive His freedom from its tragic consequences. We make a serious mistake if we think God’s mercy is the result of some “smile-and-forget-it” bend in His nature. God’s forgiveness is available and adequate because it cost an inestimable price: the blood of His Son.
