Safety Sundays Shot #14 Happy Sunday everyone! For this weeks safety shot we look at a VERY common situation that occurs to a lot of players getting out of shape in this same style. Here we have a game of 8 ball, the 8 ball is frozen to the rail and you got out of shape to shoot it in! Yes there is a very tough bank from here but going for that could very easily lead to a tap in sell out to your opponent, we dont want that do we! The solution is hitting the left edge of the 8 ball with 3 tips of left english at an easy pace (a 1 or 1 1/2 for my students) and try to freeze the 8 ball on the end rail and get the cue ball all the way up table to the other end rail. From here they have a very difficult and low percentage bank if they wish to pursue it, this also makes for a very tough return safety because of the distance.
