Safety is a key word in all aspects of aviation. There are regulations, guidelines and laws to make sure all processes are handled correctly to guarantee safety. In addition, organizations which handle these processes - and especially the employees within these organizations - are just as important. An organization with a ‘just culture’ that allows openly to report errors and does not fixate on who is to blame, is an organization that has a better vision on the opportunities in understanding and intercepting safety issues. They pursue an active safety culture and can be described as a ‘learning organization’.
