Sappy Status Alert: And just like that, Summer of Opera 2014 has come to an end. 4 shows of Così fan tutte as Ferrando, and 4 shows of Rusalka as the Prince. What a ride this has been! So many experiences, so much growth! I look back at my work since my first role as Mayor Upfold in Albert Herring, and I have definitely come a long way. I am more passionate than ever about this beautiful art form, and I will do whatever it takes to make. Nothing will stop me... Not even a tonsillitis or a kidney stone!!! Thank you to everyone who has supported me since day one, and who made it possible for me to accomplish my goals. Its not easy for us young singers, but there are always a few angels along the way that guide us and help us. Special thank you to a few very special people I have had the honor to work with this summer: Music directors Thomas Cockrell and Gregory William Myra, stage directors David Ward and Andrew Pelrine. Your guidance, passion and vision during the process of creating these beautiful shows was absolutely stunning, and it was a great pleasure to work with such amazing people. Thank you all for believing in me and nurturing me along the way. Stage managers Shannon Feltmate, Rachel Walrath, Macey Best and Brandon Ehrenreich, thank you so much for all your help, having to put up with all the singers! Nina Scott-Stoddart, thank you so much for once again believing in me as well... It was such an honor to come back to Halifax and sing such beautiful music. Steven Rushing, thank you as well for such a wonderful season at Opera in the Ozarks... It was definitely an experience that shall never be forgotten! Musical coaches Marie-Michelle Raby, Susan Lexa, Michael Dauphinais, John Elam and Matt Brower, thank you so, so much for guiding us young singers through the process of learning the music, for having to deal with our mistakes and helping us correct them. The wonderful people in charge of costuming us: Miriam Patterson, Constance Blackmon Lee, Chris Pelrine, thank you so very much for helping to dress us for these fabulous shows! My Così fan tutte and Rusalka cast-mates... OMG! Thank you so much for being such wonderful human beings! It was truly a pleasure to work with you all and be a witness to all of our growth on the stage!!! Thank you to my voice teachers Zoraida Lopez and Tom Baresel. Definitely, without all their patience and lessons, I wouldnt have been able to make it. Minerva Ojeda De Arroyo, Joküll Warbear and everyone else in my family, thank you so, so much for your constant love and support! There are a few angels who have whole-heartedly supported me along the way... Just to mention a few, Rafael de Acha, Kimberly Daniel de Acha, Elizabeth Galindo Ramos, Gilberto Pesquera, Kimberly Davis, Eduardo Ramos Asillo, etc... I have been truly blessed with so many wonderful people! I love you all! See you soon! Next project: Finish my Masters degree!
