Saraswat heritage in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. The picture is that of Shree Radha Govinda Dev Jee, the patron god of Jaipur, who was brought from Shreedham Vrindavan by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II , the founder of Jaipur City. It is said that the moorti of Shree Govindadevji is alive and is the correct representation of Shree Krishna. What is more interesting is that, this moorti has been served by Srila Rupa Goswami who was a disciple of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is a Saraswat from Karnataka and it is because of him that the various aspects of Gaudiya Vaishnavism was codified and was taken up by various other great souls to propagate to the utter ends of earth. I was not aware as yet, of this angle of the Gudiya Vaishnavism, and wanted to share the same with you guys.
