Saturday, November 1, 2014 8:47 AM MST A cold front pushing some rain and scattered showers ahead of it can be seen moving south southeast down the peninsula on our satellite image. There will be one more day of hot weather in the south then a chance of rain first of the week from the southern direction as Tropical Storm Vance is forecast to pass several hundred miles south of the peninsula. In Baja California, The Pacific coastal areas of Baja California clearing skies as the cold front is already pushed further south. Temps will reach only into the upper 60s along the coast as far south as El Rosario. Inland in Mexicali look for just the upper 70s through Wednesday, when it will warm back into the 80s again. Along the Sea of Cortez San Felipe will only see upper 70s through mid week when it will warm again into the low 80s after a taste of winter comes south. On our Tropical Watch we have Tropical Storm Vance, is still puttering around down along 9°N more than 1000 miles south of Cabo San Lucas. But forecasts call for the system to hook back to the northeast tomorrow and pass several hundred miles south of Cabo San Lucas the first of the week. A Baja landfall of this system remains unlikely, as our air mass is dry and a cold front will have pushed even dried air south by the end of the weekend, but the tip of the peninsula is within the 5 day cone, so we will continue to track vance every 6 hrs through the weekend.re-post from Baja Insider
