Saturday night, trying to watch Florida State play against GA Tech and listen to the media help crucify Florida State quarterback Winston on what so far is he says/she says, but of course she says so and it must be true. I went to the March against POLICE brutality in Knoxville TN last evening and was excited and had a great time. I was standing next to a four year old, in the company of those around me from 10 years to 70 years old. As the evening was drawing to a close, a young white boy walked up to us screaming, Mike Brown deserved to die. That started a heated conversation (guarded) between my Friend, driver, etc. You should have been there to see how quickly Knoxville TNs finest (cops) came to the rescue of what they thought one little ole Black lady would be doing to injure the young white man, who kept screaming, Emitt Till didnt do much wrong, all he did was whistle at a white woman. Although that was wrong, it wasnt as bad as stealing the cigars. Little did he know, it was five of us (6 if you included the walking cane being carried by one). I thanked the cop, because if he had touched either of us, both wouldnt be able to handle what was in store for both of those young white men, and it too would have been on video (we all had cameras, but only one was on camera duty). During the ride of trying to get us back to our getta way car, TRYING TO GET THE HELL OUTTA KNOXVILLE (WHILE STILL trying to remember exactly where we were parked, street, level and all), we de-briefed and agreed all who screamed out to marchers were old white males (get a job, Blacks are ALL thugs, etc). It was a good evening, everything went well, it was good to be in the number and affiliated with the intelligent and progressive and definitely not with the ignorance of those who dont know what, why and when. Because its really simple: For those of us who where there on last evening with wall to wall cops surrounding us along with their constituents (those who have One thing in common - HATRED) know this, ONE, WE are the people. TWO, WE are United. THREE, THIS revolution is not leaving. Goodnight!
