Saw the movie last night and could not recommend it more. Hard to - TopicsExpress

Saw the movie last night and could not recommend it more. Hard to remain objective when you see what you lived through up on the screen and personally knew many of the characters. The film accurately captures the fear, anger and despair of the early days of the AIDS epidemic. I volunteered at GMHC from early 1982 to 1984 doing everything from answering the hotline, working on fundraisers and being trained as a patient buddy(crash course in social work). Glad to see Larry Kramer getting the recognition he so richly deserves. His perseverance and big mouth can be credited with saving millions of lives. Thousands more could have been saved had only a heartless and cruel government bothered to listen. The film humanizes gay men in a way no other film has before. Bittersweet as you realize the dehumanization that allowed this epidemic to grow into a worldwide pandemic. The film will bring you to tears and if not check and see if you actually have a heart. thenormalheart.hbo/home/camp=ABC1521/
