Scattered thunderstorms will develop across the South Plains late - TopicsExpress

Scattered thunderstorms will develop across the South Plains late this afternoon and this evening along a stalled frontal boundary across the North Central South Plains. Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms should develop before 6:00pm north of Lubbock. Initially, activity will favor the northeastern South Plains north and east of a line from Plainview to Floydada to Paducah. Any storms that develop may become severe with large hail and high wind gusts. There is an isolated tornado threat this afternoon, mainly north of Lubbock. This evening, additional storms should move into the area from New Mexico. This will also increase storm chances areawide. Hail, high winds and an isolated tornado threat exists with this activity before transitioning into a heavy rain and damaging wind threat overnight. Pay close attention to weather conditions Saturday afternoon and Saturday night across the South Plains. Severe weather is possible over portions of the viewing area and could develop just about anywhere today and tonight. Cary Allen KCBD
