Scenes from a Special Event: Great Plains Tribal Chairmens Health Board Communications & Outreach Coordinator Jesse Abernathy Abel recently completed the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerces Leadership Rapid City 2014 program, along with 29 other selectees from throughout the area. In honor of this collective accomplishment, a special graduation ceremony was held for all 30 LRC 2014 participants at the Hampton Inn in Rapid City, S.D., on Saturday, November 22. The 12-week program is designed to promote a better understanding of the Rapid City area community, build and enhance leadership skills, and develop a strong network of community leaders. LRC participants are chosen based on their active community involvement, evidence of leadership abilities and potential to provide leadership to the Rapid City area community. Jesses coworkers, Cheri Hample, Community Health Department Director, and Debee Eagle Elk (not pictured), Administrative Assistant, as well as his parents, John and Sandy (Hopkins) Abernathy, and sister, LaRae White, were in attendance in support of his achievement.
