School Site Coordinator Youth Development Department Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) is seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to join the Youth Development team as a School Site Coordinator. Mission of CRCD To better sustain, coordinate and improve local planning, development and community services that address the needs of low-income residents and small businesses in South Los Angeles. Founded in 2005, the Coalition for Responsible Community Development has a unique focus on young people in Vernon-Central (age 16-25), and collaborates with residents, businesses, community-based organizations, civic leaders and Los Angeles Trade Technical College to improve the quality of life in our community. Position Overview The School Site Coordinator will serve as the educational leader, responsible for managing and enhancing the educational outcomes for Coalition for Responsible Community Development’s (CRCD) South Los Angeles Workforce Development programs. The School Site Coordinator will work closely and collaboratively with YouthBuild Charter School of California (YCSC) Administration, CRCD’s Youth Development Director and Los Angeles Trade Technical Center (LATTC) management team to ensure that student learning goals are being met in a way that complies with the expectations and requirements of the California Department of Education and is consistent with CRCD’s Workforce Development programs and the LATTC administration. The School Site Coordinator will be housed on the campus full-time and will report directly to the YCSC School Principal and CRCD Youth Development Director. Specific Duties and Responsibilities • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students, staff, community and partners • Provide leadership, support and supervise YCSC staff, including teachers and support staff, at the site • Oversee the instructional programs of the site, support curriculum development, evaluate lesson plans and observe classes on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with YCSC Authentic & Collaborative Education (ACE) manual • Ensure that the program maintains consistency with the YCSC school-wide goals, priorities and practices • Oversee the enrollment process of new students, ensuring that the requirements of CRCD and LATTC are met along with YCSC enrollment paperwork • Oversee the scheduling of classes, course offerings at the site and ensure they are aligned with CRCD’s workforce development programs • Meet with students, parents and other stakeholders as needed to provide information regarding program components and individual student progress, as appropriate • Support the process for developing community and interdisciplinary connections with the curriculum • Supervise effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school site and restorative justice philosophy • Provide support to school administration for accreditation reviews, audits and YCSC Board oversight processes Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and California Single-Subject Credential with five years related experience Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree preferred • Administrative Credential preferred • Knowledge and understanding of community development and non-profit sector Salary $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience Application Process Those interested in this position may apply by submitting a cover letter, salary history and resume to: [email protected].
