School attendant arrested for raping 3-year-old girl on campus from TOI BENGALURU: Nagaraj alias Nagarajappa, a 27-year-old school attendant, was arrested on November 30 for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl on the campus of her private school in East Bangalore on November 26. Investigation revealed that he raped the girl on October 22 too. City police commissioner MN Reddi said, After the morning prayer, the accused lured the victim with chocolates to an under-construction building and raped her, he said. Nagaraj confessed to raping the girl twice. According to the girls mother, her child behaved in strange manner on returning home around 12.45pm on November 26. Usually, shed ask for lunch. That day, she went to her bedroom and slept. When I called her for lunch, she silently came and ate very little, the mother said. The mother noticed that her daughter went to the bathroom frequently. I was worried if she had some infection and I checked her private parts, I found scratch marks. I asked her what had happened. After some time, she said Nagarajanna gave her chocolates and did those things to her, the mother told police. She took the girl to the Ramamurthynagar police station and filed a complaint. We detained Nagaraj after the girl identified him, police said. According to mother, there are four women and three men attenders in the school. Men attenders are seen taking the kids to school from the main entrance. Ayahs are seen only near classrooms. At the last parent-teacher meeting, we objected to men attending to girls and the management had promised us that only ayahs would handle girls. But nothing has been done, another parent said. The school has around 25 branches in Karnataka and this particular branch was opened this June. There are around 375 students from nursery to Class 9 and 40 staff members. The attendant joined the school in October.
