Screenwriter Kevin Willmott will give a talk at the Science Hall, room BL 190, this evening at 7 p.m. Willmott is a professor of film at the University of Kansas, as well as a film writer and director. He is known for Ninth Street, starring Martin Sheen and Isaac Hayes; the critically acclaimed feature film CSA: The Confederate States of America; and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Willmotts most recent film is Jayhawkers, a movie about basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain and how he and a small group of allies in 1950s Kansas modernized college sports and changed a community, serving as a parallel to the Civil Rights Movement that would transform an entire American society. — jayhawkersmovie/synopsis.html The event is free and open to the public.
