Sean Strub asks us: If Anthony Fauci had listened to people with AIDS, and their clinicians, in 1987, thousands of lives would have been saved. This column concerns of of the most egregious episodes in the history of the federal governments abysmal response to the epidemic. Why do so few people know about it? Why is there no accountability? Why are so many of the same people, who have never even acknowledged their mistakes, let alone apologized for them, still in the same positions holding immense power? And now Anthony Fauci is repainting his self-portrait, but there are too many people who remember, too many whose losses were too bitter to allow him to successfully become Dr. Dorian Gray. There isnt a portrait beautiful enough to make this man anything but what he is -- a man who put his own cult of personality over the lives of people being mown down by this terrible scourge.
