Senator Warren asks bank regulators why there have been NO criminal prosecutions at all after the 2008 banking disasters ruined the US economy. After the Savings and Loan crisis in the 70s and 80s the government brought over 1000 criminal prosecutions and got over 800 convictions. FBI opened over 5000 criminal investigations because of referrals from banking investigators and regulators. The message to bankers is clear, steal a billion dollars and you will not go to jail. The message to us is clear, steal $100 on main street and you will spend your life in jail.
