Senior Care Assistant Senior Care Assistant (Assisted Living) Knowle, Warwickshire Salary: £7.49 per hour (flexible plus depending on experience) benefits Hours: Full Time, Part Time Working as part of the staff team at a prestigious care home in Knowle, the Senior Care Assistant is responsible for providing the highest standards of care to our residents while complying with all companys policies and regulations. Key duties and responsibilities of this role include; • Ensuring smooth running of the shift. This is accomplished by assigning specific tasks to Care Assistants on shift and monitoring their completion • Communicating all issues regarding the department to residents families and other team members in the absence of the department Manager. • Review the Individualised Service Plan in the Resident Services Book • Assist residents with daily activities as indicated on the Individualised Service Plan • Provide/assist with personal care • Ensure a pleasant dining experience for the residents • Tidy residents rooms daily • Do residents personal laundry • Provide residents with both physical and emotional support • Integrate the residents individual life skills into the daily routine • Assist with transporting residents to appointments and other activities as requested • Effectively communicate and/or document any information regarding the residents, according to the procedure explained by your supervisor • Inform the appropriate staff member of any resident changes of condition and resident family concerns • Speak with family members in a positive and polite manner: encourage family members to join in with daily activities • Ensure infection control procedures are followed • Prepare medication for each residents medication administration • Administer medications to residents • Document legibly all resident concerns made while administering medication • Maintain and record stock levels and charges by appropriate products Candidate requirements for this vacancy: • Ability to handle multiple priorities • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills • Ability to react calmly in emergency situations and be considerate • Exhibits a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people • Ability to work flexible hours • Be at least 21 years of age, as regulations require • One year experience in long term care or assisted living or home health preferred • Medication administration training or/and a willingness to undertake training if required • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and Sunrise applications with the ability to learn new applications This position offers an hourly rate circa £7.49 per hour along with additional benefits including pension plan and life assurance.
