Sentinel Police Chief Shot Multiple Times USA / Oklahoma / Sentinel Jan 15, 2015 No arrests will be made at this time in the shooting of the the Sentinel police chief Thursday morning during an investigation into a bomb threat. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Chief Louis Ross was shot after going to the home of a person suspected of calling in a bomb threat to the Head Start program. Authorities said the man who shot Chief Louis Ross has been extensively interviewed, and agents think the man did not know it was an officer who made entry during the investigation. Sentinel Mayor Sam Dlugonsky said a person called a bomb threat into the Community Action Head Start program. Police traced that threat back to Dallas Horton. Horton and his wife Esther Marie were interviewed in connection with the shooting. The mayor said police went to the suspects home and cleared one room of the house. Dlugonsky said as police were working to clear the second bedroom, Ross was shot three times in the chest and one time in the arm. Authorities said Ross was wearing a bullet-proof vest. According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, Ross had a protective vest on because a Washita County Deputy loaned it to him just before they entered the home. Ross was taken to a hospital in Hobart with non-life-threatening injuries.
