Seonam village is a small town located on the banks of Seogang River in Ongjeong-ri, Seo-myeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do province. The village is famous for its cliff that is shaped just like the Korean Peninsula. Visitors can catch a great view of the famous cliff from Oganjae lookout (located towards Namsanjae). Nearby points of interest include the historic sites of King Danjong (the 6th King of Joseon Dynasty) such as Jangneung Tomb and Cheongnyeongpo Cape. Other tourist destinations include Seondol (which means “menhir” in Korean), Donggang river, Seogang river, valley of Kim Sat-gat (a wandering poet), Yeongwol Book Museum, Yeongwol Insectarium and Byeolmaro astronomical observatory.
