Sept 14, 1997 ACES-II ejection from F-117 during airshow Press release: Incorrectly installed fasteners caused the crash of an Air Force F-117 stealth fighter. The pilot, Major Bryan Knight, escaped with minor injuries after ejecting from the aircraft. The Air Force investigation found four of 39 fasteners for the wing structural support assembly had been left off when the wings were removed and reinstalled in January 1996.
