September 29, 2014 - This Passacaille in E minor, by the French baroque composer Robert de Visée, comes from Suite # 12 of his Livre de pieces pour la Guitarre (1686). In 1680 he became a chamber musician to Louis XIV, in which capacity he often performed at court. This is one of my favorites of de Visée’s works, and is an excellent piece for intermediate guitarists to learn and play.
