September 9, 2014 It’s #tonuptuesday! Jan from Germany’s Klassik Kustoms sent us photos of this 1973 Honda CB350 K4. Jan loves Japanese bikes from the 70s and his specialty is flat & low, which he calls FlowStyle. This Honda came to Jan’s garage in original condition but a majorly botched DIY job by the previous owner left the bike inoperable. He started with the engine. “The left piston buckled sideways and hit the cylinder,” he said. “I overhauled the whole engine. So another FlowStyle idea came to my mind. I got some real nice and very low Koni shocks (280mm), with a nice performance, but I had to make it fit, because they were not meant to be on this ride. I did the same with the forks, the bike is lowered 5 cm.” Other mods, as told by Jan: “Clip ons, a tractor light and a CNC fork stem went to the front. The wiring is completely new and wired to a minimum – I used only small and modern elements, like LED lights and the motogadget speedo. I transformed a Yamaha seat to an antique look and made it fit on the shortened frame. I changed the cyan gas tank and side covers to a nice maroon red set to make the look more deluxe. Nice Firestone tyre in the back with 4.00 inch width and a smaller 3.25 inch Midas tyre in the front for nice handling. For a good sound I added a super short exhaust system. For a good riding position I made some adapters to get the Tarozzi rearset to the right position. The result is a nice handling low machine, meant to make you feel free!” Find Jan and Klassik at: facebook/klassikkustomscom Want to see your bike featured here?
