To be rigorous and not to add speculation, last weeks discovery PROVES the existence of gravitational waves [bit.ly/1fNm3OL], a big part of the Big Bang model [bit.ly/1gRAFBs], and the existence of a Planck timescale inflationary epoch t~10^-34s right after the Big Bang occurred 14 billion years ago [bit.ly/1fPsxwO].
