Several people have asked about the source of information for the map below. This is a chart that was used in court as part of the class action lawsuit Cook v. Rockwell. It is a public court document and was based on data verified by the DOE. Radiation studies of this area first began in the late 1970s and early 1980s with studies initiated by Dr. Carl Johnson, the Health Director of Jefferson County (who refused to approve home building permits within 10 miles of Rocky Flats, and was fired from his job. He later won a whistleblower lawsuit against Jefferson County). The data that was added to this chart came from two recent, independent testings in 2011.
