Several years ago I received a phone call from the then IYD President, Superintendent Linwood N Stephanie Dillard, who asked me to serve as the Chairman of the National Coalition of Jurisdictional Presidents for the IYD. Much work, collaborations & many conference calls had already gone forth but I was honored to be chosen to be selected to serve as Chairman of such a vital group in the Church Of God In Christ International Youth Department. Here we are nearly 4 years later & now after being reappointed to this office by our current IYD President, Pastor Ben Stephens, we are seeing the manifestation of the Tomorrow We Talked About On Yesterday! On this year at the 2014 International AIM Convention the National Coalition of Jurisdictional Presidents of the IYD had an INCREDIBLE session Tuesday - Friday of last week! If you are a Jurisdictional or District Youth Department President and you werent in attendance you missed out on a time of GREAT SHARING & INVALUABLE RESOURCES! One of the benchmark priniciples that I established under my administration as Chairman was that I refused to be a TAX COLLECTOR! I realize one of the basic & fundamental concepts of COGIC leadership at this level is that If You Dont Connect, You Cant Collect! It is humbling, overwhelming & truly a confirmation that the NCJP is headed in the right direction based on the feedback that I have been receiving from those in attendance. On last week we were blessed to do some things that previous had never been achieved before. From our daily class sessions that we received impartation, training & inspiration from Vice Presidents Derrick Hutchins II & Elder Mj Young Pastor, to the Members of the Board of Bishops, Bishop Keith Jones(New Mexico), Bishop David Herron(Ohio), Bishop Ladell Thomas, Jr.(Texas), Bishop Tyrone L Butler(New York), Bishop L.F. Thuston, Vice Chairman of the General Assembly(Kansas) and General Board Member, Bishop Brandon B. Porter(Tennessee).......a historic wealthy moment as we welcomed the Generals and 21st century Fathers of our church to address us and our Presidents Reception on Wednesday Evening and our Presidents Luncheon on Thursday just made for a INCREDIBLE week of ministry at this level! We never could have had the level of success that we experience on this week without a POWERFUL group of thinkers that serve with me on the Executive Board of the NCJP! I am grateful for my 1st Vice Chairman, President Larry Lewis of Northern Mississippi and my 2nd Vice Chairman, President Darryl Allen of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are afforded the great opportunity to serve with some great brothers, President Willie Morgan(Texas Southwest), President Cliff Daniels(Eastern NY 3rd), President Joel Pullen(Connecticut Second), President Jacqueline Jackson(Ohio North First), President Kiyuan Thompson(Michigan North Central), President Charles Byes(Mississippi Southern Second), President Earl Venerable(Indiana North Central 4th), President Hosea Malone(Arkansas Second) & President Andrew Jackson(Texas Northeast First)........I am grateful to lead with this leaders in the IYD! JURISDICTIONAL & PRESIDENTS if you were in attendance on last week at our sessions of the NCJP let me hear your feedback on our sessions(What You Received, How Did The Sessions Challenge You, What Did You Gain, How Did The Sessions Impact You As A Jurisdictional or District President)!
