[Sharing Info] MRA 166 Countries Malaysians Can Travel to Without Visa ----------------------------------------------- Do you know that with a Malaysian international passport, you can visit 166 countries around the world VISA FREE or with VISA ON ARRIVAL? According to the Henley Visa Restrictions Index 2014, Malaysian citizens could travel to 166 countries visa-free, or with visa on arrival, ranking the Malaysian passport eighth in the world (tied with Malta). A visa allows you to travel to the destination country as far as the port of entry (airport, seaport or land border crossing) and ask the immigration officer to allow you to enter the country. In most countries the immigration officer has the authority to permit you to enter. He or she usually also decides how long you can stay for any particular visit. Where visa-free access is permitted, such access is not necessarily a right, and admission may technically be at the discretion of border enforcement officers. Visitors engaging in activities other than tourism may require a visa or work permit. Kazakhstan is the latest country to offer visa free access. Malaysia is ranked 8th among 219 countries based on the number of countries their passport holders are allowed to enter other countries without visa restrictions. It should be noted that the same survey last year placed Malaysia at the 9th spot with 163 countries not imposing visa restrictions on its holders. Among Malaysia’s neighbours, Singapore was placed in the 5th position together with New Zealand and Switzerland, whose passports are good for visa-free access to 170 countries.
