She tiptoed into his room. The temperature in the room was pretty good. It was supposed to cool off that night and she saw his footies were still on, and the same color. I can do it myself was paying off. His favorite blankey was curled at his feet and she spread it over him. She gently brushed her finger tips through his hair and it was dry and soft. She ran her hand down his back and felt that he was warm and sleeping well. She leaned down and kissed his forehead gently and felt no temperature. She gently kissed his cheek and heard his strong steady breathing. As she stood to leave, she turned down the lights a little more and saw a sweet smile on his little face. She knew all was well for now. When her husband asked what she was doing she said Oh, I just kissed the baby goodnight. Thanks Mom for all the just kisses.
