Should it be made easier for ex-offenders to get jobs? Changes - TopicsExpress

Should it be made easier for ex-offenders to get jobs? Changes aimed at boosting offenders chances of getting a job after they leave jail come into force in England and Wales today. Under the new rules, people who were sentenced to six months or less in prison will have to include their criminal history on job applications for only two years, instead of seven. More serious offenders will also see a cut in the period of time for which they have to declare their criminal record to employers. Is it right to give people a better chance to make a new start? Or should the rights of employers, to know about applicants, be more respected? Should it be made easier for ex-offenders to get jobs?
