Sick of people who say We Arabs suck or We Muslims are not United or blah blah. Listen, if you want to criticize yourself then by all means go ahead. If you want to criticize a certain human trait, then by all means go ahead. HOWEVER, do not lump me, my family, my friends, my village together as if we all share your criticism simply because we belong to your ethnic or religious group. Its no better than what anti-Arabs and anti-Muslims do to us. Why should I accept your stereotypes and not theirs (even if you may have a better intention for your criticism)? Im sick of it. Im sick of it because it only leads to self hatred and our kids are already having an identity crisis. STOP making them feel like they are so horrible or somehow lessor of human beings because their home countries are in shambles. Weve got problems, yes, but they arent because we are not perfect human beings. There are flawed people all around the world. Some of them live in crappy countries and others live in well to do countries. Thats my rant for this first day of 2015. Happy new year!
