Sierra Leone Observes World Food Day 2013 The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security (MAFFS), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), World Food Program (WFP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and other partners has joined the world over to observed this years “World Food Day” at a ceremony held on Tuesday 29th October at the Sierra Leone Agri Business Initiative (SABI) Center, Newton on the theme; “Healthy People Depend on Healthy Food Systems”. Chairing the program, former Minister of Agriculture Alhaji Suffian Kargbo, said 10% of the annual country budget is dedicated to Agricultural sector, which according to him is a clear manifestation of government’s determination in combating hunger and make available sufficient and quality food for all. news.sl/drwebsite/publish/article_200524065.shtml
