Simon and I have tested out plenty of different restaurants over the past five summers across Canada and the USA and we have discovered the best of the best. No argument. Weve even sent others to test these places out, and have several other taste-bud confirmations as to the quality of these restaurants. So, really, these places are must eat destinations. Trust us! This week, I am recommending Leeks Marina Pizzeria in beautiful Grand Teton National Park. First, perhaps I should tell you, reader, that Simon Jackson is one of the world leaders in pepperoni pizza consumption. Hes been all over the WORLD to test out the perfect pie. Even Italy. And he can put his stamp of guaranteed gooey-ness, sauciness, and crispiness on the pizzas here. Its a must try. We also recommend the pesto sticks. Yes we are pigs. Presto, pesto! And a side o ranch. We order pesto sticks AND a large pizza. But in fairness, we usually head straight to Leeks post-25km hike. If you are craving something a bit different, and arguably even more delicious, try out their calzones. Best. Ever. We are not sure how they do it, but its the perfect crispy/gooey/savoury that will leave a huge smile on your face, and a stuffed belly. Oh, and even though you will be too full when you are finished, they also have a decent selection of ice cream to enjoy while watching the sunset over the Tetons. Perfect! Well, its almost as perfect as the view from the patio. Ever been to the Tetons? Finally, if you are not quite sold on this place yet, it also has a fascinating history. Leeks was originally a dude ranch back in the early 1900s and was used as the set for several wild west movies. Read the historical plaques as you eat your ice cream. So to recap: 1. Pizza 2.
