Since many of you enjoyed my last post, I thought I would share another story. (I have many of them) They would keep close watch on how we looked. Clothing acceptable, well groomed, properly shaven, and for the ladies, the old is your skirt higher than your knee guilt trip. So one night at meeting, an elders wife, who seemed to take incredible enjoyment at enforcing this stuff, came up to me and said, You know, being clean shaven should be a high priority for a brother wanting to excel in the congregation. I answered, Oh really? And she said, You should shave off that moustache. I couldnt resist. Ill shave mine off when you shave yours off. She stormed away. A week later, I was pulled into the back room on some trumped up charge. Guess who it was that tried to scold me? Her husband. Two people seen me drinking excessively at a worldly party. LOL. So I really let this guy have it. For starters, what were these two witnesses doing at a worldly party? And whose house was this at? Second, Id like to talk to them. They are supposed to come to me first. But I get the feeling that you wont allow that to happen, right? He nodded. You know as well as I do why we are standing here. Tell your wife to mind her own business. He insisted that his wife had nothing to do with it. Yeah, right. Well, since you have no eye witnesses, this scolding session is over. Next time, try coming up with a better storyline. Ah, the memories. I think Ill add these stories to my book.
