Sitting here early this afternoon, typing out the rough draft of a new story, I nearly did myself a serious and lasting harm! I should point out my chair is right beside a large window looking out on my veggie patch and wild mini meadow. Id been keeping half an eye on the comings and goings of the small tortoise shells, the resident peacock and the likes. two cracking male brimstones turned up. Then what I took to be a third appeared right on the edge of my vision, it swooped in to some french marigolds, dislodging a brimstone, it was a male clouded yellow, very fresh, I turned so quickly I banged my nose on the window!! it didnt half hurt! Silly old fart that I am, Id forgotten Id cleaned the darned window yesterday! [it was rather over due]. By the time Id sorted myself out and got out there the thing was off at warp speed down wind headed for the private estate across the road! hey-ho such is life! You spend ages looking for these things then one turns up an arms length away! says Hi, then byee.
