Sitting listening to the songs that one of my 8th graders created - TopicsExpress

Sitting listening to the songs that one of my 8th graders created for our upcoming protest comedy epic, Lizzy Strata. Jaw on the ground, sensing Im in the presence of greatness as I did when I first heard Raymond Bokhours Shakespeare settings, or read Bari Bierns Mozart lyrics, or Sophie Crawford-Browns childrens opera, Clare Daviss Macbethany, or Emily Marshs pitch for The Ballad of Friar John. Richard Dortons choreography for Bottoms Dream and ComedyA of Error(E)s..Jessica Browne-White in Winters Tale..Jessica Carpenters script for The Notorious P-Y-G... The list of gifted collaborators and students goes on, but specific, memorable moments of epiphany are rare, and very exciting.
