So, I dont rant often but it is time for a rant. I work my ass off everyday and gave for 27 freaking years of my life. Consistently, mind you. I never stepped away. I never quit. I have never stopped. I have said this since 2011 when I last won with the JFP awards that Donna Ladd is nothing short of Hitler. She is a brainwashing fanatic who caters to certain musicians and individuals. She throws out ballots and yes, I know you do Donna. Two of your employees told me exactly what you did with mine this year. Im not a sore loser and Im happy for those that won BUT that are DESERVING of this honor. Im in a band that is in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. I play amazing musicians and yes, we are a nationally signed act. I have done many things in and around this community and have kicked ass at every one of my shows. The JFP refuses to do write-write-ups on me because I wont kiss their liberal butts and thats the truth of the matter. You give awards to kids weve never even heard of who just picked up their instruments and you take away from those of us who actually have hustled and hustled for years to gain the success we have. Being that your paper is private, I suppose you can do what you want but your antics are beyond old as is your opinion. You, my friend, are a scrappy person with a scrappy paper. I dont need your little construction paper certificate to know I am a bad ass. And yes, I did just say that. Ive been at this longer than most in this town and you have no clue what it means or what it takes to step in our shoes and get on stage night after night. If I have to play Fondren and be a Fondrenite to get anywhere with you then I am so proud to be an original from SOUTH JACKSON and will never conform to your paper or your ideals. This is my personal opinion and represents no one I am affiliated with. Just my rambling for the day. Again, congrats to my friends who won and who actually are deserving of the win.
