So ... I have returned from my Alaska/Yukon/Arctic ride ..... The only change??? I didnt make it to the Arctic Circle! Poor weather and a compromised rear tire sealed the deal on this matter. Disappointed? ... yes. However, riding 800 KMs on a slimy road in the rain & cold with an iffy tire would not have been the safest or smartest thing in the world to do. My ego is not that big that its hurt by not getting up to the circle ... That will happen on another, safer day! I equate the scenario to all those mountain climbers who get to within 500 ft of Everests peak, but are forced to turn back due to bad weather. On the BRIGHT side tho ...!..... The entire ride was amazing! .. and the Dust 2 Dawson meetup in Dawson City was outrageous fun! I will be writing a new blog with pics in the next several days. My new cover pic??? The weiner covered in ketchup dangling from a fishing rod eating contest!
