So, I havent done much coursework updating during this semester, so here is a wrap-up: I have an A in my theatre production class with only a peer evaluation still due. This is the class that everyone seems to have problems with the professor, but I thought the class was fine and had a great conversation with him today. With my extra-credit, I will likely get an A+. In my research class, I presented my original research today and got my grade summary. I got a 96 on my first paper in the class and 100% on every other paper, including my final original research paper. This class was all new material to me, as Ive never done research before, and Im extremely excited about how much I learned. Finally, I have a cabaret performance with my fellow classmates on Wednesday night at 7. This class was challenging for me because, to me, cabaret is to musical theatre what public speaking is to acting. Anyone that knows me knows how much I hate public speaking, because there is no character and no script to hide behind. Its just you, exposed. Well, I have decided to develop my own cabaret show (in fact, I have two concepts). So, though I dont know my actual grade, I would say this was a wonderfully eye-opening learning experience. I was also delighted with the level of support students have for each other in this class. So, Im going to stamp my first year of grad school as successful. :)
