So, I sat beside my daughter in the gynecologists office when she was pregnant. she had a hard time getting pregnant and the doc had been amazing to her and Rick. We were still sitting there two hours after we should have seen him. It was lunch time. He was still seeing patients. Some young woman complained very loudly that we should have private medical care and there wouldnt be line ups like this. I wanted to say, if this was private you couldnt afford him. And you know what - he was skipping his lunch to keep appointments and staying with people as long as they needed not the 15 minutes allotted! But Div grabbed my hand as I was opening my mouth and I bit my tongue. Yes, we have costs that tackle us whenever we have serious illness, things that arent covered but we have some of the best people in the world look after us when we are sick and we know the options they offer are their best judgment not their best money makers. In one hospital the poor people are shipped out to another hospital because they can\t pay; the rich are kept. The irony, the hospital where the poor people are sent get a better outcome for the health issue, the rich or well insured have worse outcomes because the hospital keeps them for their money and wont send them where they would get better care.
