So, I went out of town for a while last month and boarded all my animals at the vet. Lucy, my Lab, developed some terrible GI symptoms during that time. On day 3, the vet diagnosed splenic cancer with 95% certainty. On day 6, we appeared to be dealing with canine bloat secondary to a gastric volvulus which would likely require life-saving surgery. Two weeks and two thousand dollars later, as I listen to her snoring on the couch, I have made a final diagnosis of severe acute homesickness. As in, Leave me at the vet for nine days, and I will make you pay.
