So, I will be the first to admit that an everyday person dumping ice on their head wont do much to cure a disease. But thousands? Its at least enough to take a disease that was incredibly under-funded and under-discussed and help it raise more than $10 million while also bringing it into our every day conversation. Thats pretty powerful. Even a curmudgeon like myself who hates basically every Facebook trend can get behind that. The ALSA works to both find a cure and research treatments for people with ALS.
