So Ive had the pleasure of having 5 taping appointments this week with successful LA actors. I will say that what stands out the most between them and Atlanta actors is not ability so much as preparation. Every single one of them had 7 to 12 pages of dialogue, and yet they were all very prepared. They knew what they wanted to do, came in, and did it. Sure, they did multiple takes, but every take was solid. Atlanta, all Im saying is that with every passing day this industry is getting bigger, and the competition is getting fiercer. Is acting a hobby or a way of life? If its a hobby, no worries (just dont complain about why youre not booking big roles). If its your way of life, prove it. Because every time you step into a taping room, audition room, agency office, or on set, you are representing me and the rest of the Souteastern market. If youre not MORE prepared than the LA actors youre on screen with, then you just perpetuate the stereotype that we (actors) dont have what it takes.
