So! Men this is probably too much information for you so I suggest you skip reading this.. But I dont mind if you do. 4 weeks ago I had surgery to get some high grade abnormal cells removed from my cervix. On Friday I had my follow up appointment @ which I found out I do not have cervical cancer :) :) :) such a relief after I was given the news of an abnormal pap 1st week in May its been a looooong couple of months. They dont think they got all the cells which means I may (or may not) need to go through the whole process again in 6 months time. Although it has put a screaming holt on our baby making adventures and Bodie is going to have to wait another couple of yrs for a play mate atleast he has his mumma!! The point of this post is to share my story with all you ladies out there to remind you to book your Papsmear today it seriously could save your life literally. Did you know 1 in 3 women have HPV??? And This is the virus which causes these abnormal cells which left un detected therefore untreated can lead to cervical cancer.! I wasnt due for a pap I just got one to be safe before we tried for bub #2. So in 18 months I went from having a normal pap to high grade CIN3... Please please please dont leave it longer then 2 yrs to have your Papsmear done. A pap may be confronting for some but nowhere near as confronting as having cervical cancer!! Do it book your Papsmear.
