So, Tuesday, November 4, 1997, I was assisting in choir rehearsal at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. There was a girl with this short, blonde hair and light blue eyes (which I later found out would soon change colors). I continued to look to try and catch her eye, but (and I know she was only pretending (smile) ) she didnt notice me. When I saw her grabbing her things to leave, I hurried off the organ and went to wait for her. When she came out, I asked her, Do you know where the water fountain is? Mack down now! lol. She answered and said, Right there! (I was standing next to it). Mack gone now! lol. Embarrassed, I asked, Are you leaving? She replied, I have to pick up my cousin/God-sister. Well, I said, Would you mind if I call you later? Sure!, she says! Darnell Wright and Delinda Wright both knew where I was and what I was doing and laughed for a good while. That night she had other plans, but I called about 9:30 or 10:00 and we talked until after 2 am. We talked every night until our first date at Flanagans Fort Wayne!!! I introduced her to my mom as my Wife. And, now, today, I celebrate the anniversary of The Beginning! So, Damita Staten-Jordan , I say Happy Anniversary!!! So glad I was in that rehearsal and couldnt find the water fountain! And, that you couldnt resist talking to me on the phone - and that you changed your plans that night which realigned the stars in OUR favor! Love you and all that!!
